This is a love story – a feature length film which stars the Carnival Calabar Queen (one of the major highlights of the renowned 32 day Calabar festival) and an eligible young man – a son of the soil based in Jamaica, who is trying to make his way back home. One of the primary roles of the Carnival Queen is to sell Cross River State as the ideal tourist destination. In this unique move, through the Carnival Queen, History is unraveled and the different tourist sites of Cross River State are amplified. She becomes an essential resource person for this young man although they got off on the wrong footing from the beginning. In his work base, an amazing reconciliation occurs. Jamaica is ideal for this setting as Calabar and Jamaica have strong historic ties but is hardly talked about. This film is based on a newspaper article “My Creek Town experience” by Enuma Chigbo, published in June 2009.
